We have enhanced protective measures that promote social distancing, cleaning procedures, and revolutionary ventilation for air filtration.
The San Rafael studio has an advanced HVAC air filter, which has been adjusted to nearly match oxygen levels outside actively purifying the air. Our advanced ventilation system is keeping you SAFE. It filters air & brings in fresh oxygen into the studio. The CO2 and Oxygen levels are being measured and when the CO2 gets to a certain level, immediately the air gets filtered out. Red Dragon Yogas system is set up to mimic outside. For redundancy, we also have an air scrubber machine inside the studio.
Alice Rocky And The Practice Of Precision
The posture, like its practitioner, gets better with time.
Alice Rocky is a testament to the power of regular yoga practice. The 80-plus year-old College of Marin instructor is spry, flexible, and full of vitality.
Chronological age and biological age are not the same, Rocky proclaims. She proselytizes the benefits of regular yoga practice, and in particular her favorite approach, Iyengar yoga, to neighbors, friends, store clerks, and fellow COM colleagues.
She makes a convincing case. Rocky is nimble and strong and still teaches yoga multiple times per week. Many of her students are senior citizens as well and, after years of work with Rocky, are masters of arm balances, inversions, and other advanced yoga techniques.

Where to start? Shes a wonder, he said. Shes a living proof of the benefits of yoga and exercise. Shes miraculous as an instructor and a human being. She has such a following in the community, too.
Her arrival into yoga was unexpected, however. Her first love was dance which she taught in high schools in San Francisco. It was the late 70s, and San Francisco was the epicenter for the nations counterculture. With two young children, Rocky was looking for steady work in the field she lovedand COM was looking for a dance instructor.

How Does A Pilates Class Work
A Pilates class takes place in three very distinct stages: the gentle introduction, the postures, and the stretching time. Note that contrary to appearances, a course does not necessarily have to be perfected with standard devices, and can be practiced without anything, beyond the groundsheet.
The beginning of the course is spent sitting or lying down, from the five reference systems, then, in a second step, the teacher , Sets the tone for the sequence of postures. No Pilates session is the same, and the coach then adapts to his audience, their motivation, their morphology, etc.
According to the basic principles of the discipline, such as centering or flexibility, we perform series of movements and breathing exercises to best achieve the goal that we have set together, or even individually.

What Accessories Are Needed To Do Pilates
Pilates is a sport that can be practiced without equipment, a mat and sports clothes are enough to start a Pilates class. Pilates exercises can be like stretching muscles, so the method is performed directly on a floor mat.
However, there are Pilates equipment and machines created especially for this sport. The most famous machine is the Reformer, it is a Pilates machine that allows you to stretch the muscles to the maximum with straps. It is also possible to practice the Pilates method with small accessories such as the Pilates ball, the ring or the use of rubber bands.

This is an All Level Progressive Class.
Mindful Movement & Meditation Come enjoy an all levels mindful flow yoga practice with ample time to move as well as rest, breathe, and enjoy stillness. The beginning of this class will be moderately active but at a slower pace. Well then taper down to gentle and introspective poses. After our classic Shavasana, or rest, we will practice seated Vipassana meditation. Instruction will be offered during the meditation so seasoned as well as beginning meditators are welcome.
