Will I Be Prepared To Teach After A Ytt
Yes! We take great pride in preparing students to become teachers. Teaching yoga is an art form. It is a process of intimacy one that asks for deep movement within both giver and receiver: through love, authenticity, attention, and connection.
There are many ways in which yoga can be shared, but we believe that the fundamental principle that links all of our yoga teachings is connection the concept that in order to truly help another being to find oneness, we must ourselves be a channel to that oneness for our students.
Our YTTs will help you to find this connection within, in order to share your light with others, helping to awaken and inspire all those around us.
You will be given a broad foundation of all areas necessary to give you the confidence, skills, and wisdom to share this profound healing practice.

Kristen Lassiter, ERYT-500
Kristen is an E-RYT 500 , but has primarily taught Vinyasa yoga since 2009 and was initially attracted to this discipline due to connection of breath with movement of the body. However, she is also trained in hot yoga, yoga with weights, TRX, Yin/restorative yoga & pre natal yoga as well as guided meditation and chanting. Her strengths as an instructor include being able to teach clarity of asanas with in any size class, offering different modifications/intensifications for different levels of practitioners, and educating students on postural alignment with an intention to never make yoga appear intimidating. She places emphasis on making an individual’s yoga practice one’s own and encourages students to take their practice to a level in which they feel safe, yet challenged.

Yoga Teacher Training Program Faqs:
Is there a written test that must be passed for certification?
You will be evaluated, verbally and in writing, on the material presented throughout the training program. While these evaluations are designed to determine where you need additional study or support, your certification is not contingent upon these evaluations. The practice-teach sessions are the deciding factor whether or not a student will pass the course and graduate. Being able to successfully and safely deliver a complete Vinyasa Yoga class to a group of your fellow students is also a requirement for certification.
How much time will I need to study outside of the program schedule?
Each day there will be reading assignments to support your learning within the program. The amount of time this reading takes will depend upon the assignment and the individual. There may also be time needed outside of program time to prepare for your practice teach sessions.
Is there credit for training completed outside of Yoga Teacher Training program?
For the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, our curriculum is predefined and comprehensive: it needs to be completed in its entirety at The Little Yoga Studio in order for you to become certified. The transfer of credit or hours from other programs towards this training is not allowed.
Will I have an opportunity to participate in classes at The Little Yoga Studio during the training?
Yes! All classes and selected events at The Little Yoga Studio are included in your tuition.

The word yoga means union, and refers to the spiritual union between the mind and the body. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses or asanas, yoga creates harmony within the body. What Type Of Yoga Will Be Taught In A Kula Ytt
Kula Collective trainings draw from a broad foundational understanding of the vast tradition that is this 5000-year-old approach to self-realization.
We thread the four traditional paths throughout our training programs, encouraging a holistic and experiential approach to practice and teaching.
We also weave together diverse understandings of various wisdom cultures and infuse a shamanic connection to the Earth and her elements.
In regards to Asana practice, the Kula Flow is a slow vinyasa-based sequence with an emphasis on mindfulness, breath, meditation, and alignment.
Since vinyasa is not derived from any one lineage, as a collective we have come up with a creative sequence rooted in multiple traditions.
The Kula Flow has roots in Ashtanga, Sivananda, Kundalini, Hatha, and Iyengar. The intention of the flow is to give students an opportunity to access the stillness of the mind, preparing the body for meditation the foundation of yoga.
As the program progresses, variations on the Kula Flow will be offered for different levels of experience.
The first round of teaching will be the Kula Flow the second round will be a beginners or intermediate level class where students are required to create and sequence their own class holistically around a theme of their choice and will be mentored throughout this process.

The Three Main Reasons To Doa Yoga Teacher Training
Yoga teacher training is a significant investment, requires dedicated time and asks a lot of you emotionally and spiritually. There are plenty of reasons not to ever do one. But I also believe there are seven strong reasonsto participate in a training. Here are the three main ones:
Reason #1: Adios Sporadic Practice. Hello Momentum.
Perhaps youve experienced being on a role with your practice, but somehow the wheels came off. Life is full of distractions and responsibilities. Teacher training puts yoga near the top of the list of priorities.
Teacher training builds continuously like a staircase that takes you all the way to the rooftop where you get a complete view of yourself and your unique yogic path.
Reason #2: Find and Live Your Dharma.
Dharma means your unique purpose . Amidst the noise of modern-day life, its difficult to hear the voice of inner guidance. Yoga helps us to get still and clear enough to understand ourselves and our unique life path.
Living a dharmic life is a far greater measurement of oursuccess at yoga than our ability to do a handstand.
After 3.5 months, you might find that you have become the source of your own happiness. You can manage your mind, eliminate distractions and chart a new path of greater peace and fulfillment.
Reason #3: Learn to Teach.
Many people struggle with having a sense of purpose or contribution. Yoga is a blessing. Being able to teach well rounded and compelling classes is also a blessing, for yourself and others.
Meet Melanie Founder/ryt 500
Melanie came to yoga in 2013 and immediately noticed how yoga was transforming her life in mind, body and spirit. She was inspired to guide others toward finding their own balance. Melanie’s classes are fun and challenging with a dose of philosophy and poetry. Expect to laugh, sweat and maybe learn something new.
When she is not in the studio teaching yoga, Melanie enjoys spending time with her friends and family in the outdoors hiking, snowboarding, riding dirt bikes, and gardening.
In addition to her 200 hr yoga certification thru Yoga Alliance. In the Fall of 2016, Melanie also completed her 300 hr Yoga Therapy Training thru Inner Peace Yoga Therapy.
You can catch Melanie at “almost” every class!
