What To Wear To Yoga Class

Yoga Sol – Yorba Linda, CA

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that’s made of a cotton and lycra blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

Yoga Sol’s Do’s And Don’ts

First and foremost: listen to your body, follow your instincts, rest when needed and hydrate frequently!

Early on during your first trimester, back bends may not feel right.

Twists should be taken out of the low back and aimed into the thoracic cavity.

During forward fold, keep your legs spread wide enough to make room for baby.

No crunching abdominals or Urdhva Prasarita Padasana during pregnancy.

Watch hyper-extension in your spine, pulling forward too much off your pelvis.

Inversions are fine, if you have been doing them before but it is not advised to hold them as long as you would have Pre-Pregnancy.

Full Plow pose in late second and third trimester is not advised for the growing baby.

Arms over head, feeling dizzy? Simply keep them in prayer position during the standing poses.

Balancing poses can sometimes seem more difficult than Pre-Pregnancy, because of the weight distribution.

Please be aware that between the 11th, 12th and 13th weeks of pregnancy, is one of the most crucial periods of gestation.

During Shavasana, it is sometimes recommended by doctors to prop up your right hip with a blanket or roll, so that baby gets adequate blood supply.

How Much Do Yoga Classes Cost

The average cost of single group sessions at yoga studios across the country is $15 to $20. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teachers knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.
