It turned out that the Yoga really was the one hybrid to rule them all, and every other major PC maker, including Dell, HP, Toshiba and others, experimented with all sorts of flipping, folding, rotating, and shifting hybrid PC design before settling on a similar 360-degree hinge. This variant, part of the buttoned-down ThinkPad line of business computers, kept the best parts of the transforming Yoga experience, but also added a clever keyboard trick.
When the hinge rotates from its clamshell position all the way to its tablet position, the keyboard tucks itself away inside the base. It looks and feels like a retractable keyboard, but in reality, the outer edge of the keyboard tray raises up slightly to be flush with the keys, which are in turn locked into position. But the end effect is the same, so feel free to keep calling it a retractable keyboard. It’s a great feature missing from the standard IdeaPad Yoga systems, which leave a deactivated keyboard clacking under your fingers when in tablet mode.

The X1 Yoga features two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 technology on the left side of the laptop, giving you one port free while using the included USB-C AC adapter. It’s also compatible with third-party chargers for example, we were able to use the one from the Apple MacBook Pro . It can also support dual external displays with up to 4K resolution. In addition to the USB-C connectivity, there are two USB 3.0 ports on the left side, ready for legacy peripherals like older hard drives and the charger for your phone. On the right are a headset jack, an HDMI port, a jack for the included mini Ethernet dongle, a Kensington lock port, and a third USB 3.0 port. 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 handle wireless networks. Under a door on the back panel is a microSD card slot and a SIM slot for the optional WWAN modem. Unfortunately, we didn’t have one on our tester.
The 720p HD webcam is centrally located above the display, and it automatically focuses on your face for web conferences and the like. The speakers are embedded in the bottom panel, aimed to the left and right. Voices came through loud and clear during our hands-on testing, and though there wasn’t a lot of bass, music and sound effects from movie trailers were clearly audible. A fingerprint reader is on the right side palm rest, and it works with Windows Hello for one-touch login.

Why My Touchscreen Is No Working
Touch screen is not working, could you please help me out to fix the problem.
What OS is installed in the laptop?
Go to Device Manager and check if the touchscreen is OK.
If you have Win 10 installed, right click on the Windows Start button on the left side of the Taskbar and click on the Device Manager link.
When is Device Manager, scroll down to Human Interface Devices and click on the > symbol to the left to expand the list.
If the HID – Compliant Touchscreen entry has a red cross next to it, right click on the entry and select Enable and check if the touchscreen works
If the HID – Compliant Touchscreen entry has a yellow exclamation mark next to it, right click on the entry and select Update driver software and follow the prompts. The laptop has to be connected to the internet for this to work though. Once the drivers have been updated,restart the laptop and check if the touchscreen works
If there is no fault symbol next to the entry, right click on the entry and select Properties > General and view the status of the touchscreen in the Device Status box. Does it say This device is working OK

Story Of Two Thinkpads
We ordered two ThinkPad X1 Yogas when they first appeared in 2016. The other one had a battery replaced under warranty because of extreme wear levels . Mine also had higher than normal wear levels. But not high enough to warrant a replacement I discussed this with a technician performing the replacement for the other X1 Yoga.
But I had other suspicions that my battery was not entirely well. The wear level jumped with every battery gauge reset. Sometimes it showed higher, sometimes lower. I could not rely on it to give me a truthful indication of battery health.
In addition, I noticed a strange behavior when charging the battery :
- The maximum charge of the battery was X mWh
- When charging, the computer would charge past X, sometimes by almost 10%
- When charging stopped, the current charge then dropped from over X to about 10-100 mWh less than X. This drop happened every single time I charged
- After reboot, this lesser amount became the maximum charge value.
So essentially the battery decreased the max charge amount AFTER EVERY SINGLE CHARGE. Maybe this is normal nowadays, but I never seen batteries behave like this. I heard that the fast charging batteries might behave like this I have many devices and never seen this behavior before.
