Today wed like to introduce you to Malaurie Barber.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Malaurie. So, lets start at the beginning and we can move on from there.I grew up in France and spend most of my childhood and teenage years between Paris and the northern part of France before coming to the US in 1993 at the age of 21. My mother likes to tell the story that when I was 5 years old I use to play with my sisters barbie dolls and send them to America to get married. The funny part is that we didnt own a TV, so to this day, no one knows how I knew about America. Id like to think it was destiny.

I was raised on a farm to table food, acupuncture, visit to the chiropractor and homeopathy. My parents Friday nights often consisted of having friends over for a sceance. You would think that with such an upbringing I would have been inclined to follow a spiritual path from the get-go, but nope not me, I went the complete opposite way.

I graduated college in France and fell my entrance exam to go to school to get my masters in journalism drum roll I fell the English part of the exam. So, since Im not one to dwell on things I decided that if you cant beat them, join them and I applied to become and au pair and come to the US.

26 years after, Im still here, a citizen and I own a yoga studio in Mission Viejo called Soul Movement Yoga.

Mindbody Integrated Yoga Website Design For Soul Movement Yoga

Co-owners Malaurie and Holly envisioned a safe and fun place to build a yoga community in their home of Mission Viejo, CA. They wanted to get their website up and running as they prepped the physical studio space in order to collect emails and pre-sell memberships. Since we didnt have photos of the completed studio to work with, we got creative with a layered image + texture theme throughout the site to create collage-style imagery that would convey the vibe of the new community without the need for on-location photos.

This website was built on the Squarespace platform and integrated Mindbody for scheduling and payment processing.

Mission Viejo Continues To Bustle With Business Activity

New businesses continue to open in Mission Viejo and others are coming our way. Here is a summary of the latest business activity:

Retail stores in GreenStreet Mission Viejo, the new commercial center at Marguerite Parkway continue to open including BurgerIM, La Vie Nail Spa, Seville Classics and the carwash, with Saffron Mediterranean Grill following soon.

Stacks Pancakes is also gearing up to open in the Trabuco Hills Center at 27762 Santa Margarita Parkway, and Yum Ice Cream is scooping up yummy ice cream at The Shops at Mission Viejo.

Four new training, fitness and yoga businesses have rolled out the red carpet to fitness enthusiasts including Class UFC, StretchLab, Soul Movement Yoga and Ora Pilate Studio.

The new state-of-the-art Leonard Cancer Center located on a portion of The Shops at Mission Viejo is now open and serving patients from Mission Viejo and throughout the region. The only comprehensive cancer center in Southern Orange County, it houses a research and clinical trial program, a nurse navigation program, radiation oncology, imaging services, an infusion center and complementary therapies, as well as an education center and a demonstration kitchen.

Other new businesses that recently opened in town include Bam Bams Barbershop and Project Eye Care Optometry.
