Im a creature of habit and have used the exact same sandals -Birkenstock and Chacos- for years. Typically, I use Birkenstocks as my summer office sandal, and my Chacos for my camping, post-bike, and post-hike sandal.
Both great sandals for different purposes, but since I find myself spending more time at home and I dont like to walk around barefoot, I wanted something suitable to be worn indoors that are both soft and comfy, yet wouldnt overheat my feet.

Ive wanted a pair of Sanuk Yoga Sling sandals ever since I laid eyes on them on store shelves. Not only did the unique knit design catch my eye, but the yoga mat footbed reminded me of my memory foam pillow. Now imagine having your feet take each step into comfort. Its no wonder Sanuk is known for its range of never uncomfortable sandals.
Sanuk is a Thai word meaning getting the most pleasure out of something you do. This word captures the spirit of the brand ever since the company began in 1997 as a backyard brand. Sanuk strives to innovate fun yet functional products for outdoor adventurers. The shoe company even sponsors professional athletes including surfers and rock climbers.

Soft Fabric Easy On The Toes
Even the front so-called thong part of the flip flops is fabric made without any rubber, plastics or any hard material that can harm the gentle part between the toes.
At first I worried whether theyd keep my feet in place, you know, because of the fabric, but once I put them on, I realized that they werent any less comfortable or less safe than any other sandals.
My feet didnt slip at all, and it wasnt only because of the footbed.
If you worry whether the straps would get ruined if they got wet, let me tell you that Ive worn these in heavy summer rain and nothing happened.
Of course, they arent made for swimming, or walking in puddles, but they arent going to stretch out of shape after a few rain drops fall on them.
Where I Wore Them
While planning for my trip to New York City and the Caribbean, I knew that I wanted to pack a versatile sandal that would take me from the beach to a fancy restaurant. I specifically chose the Yoga Sling 2 sandal in black since its an easy color to match, doesnt get dirty as easily and black always looks chic for dressy occasions.
It was fun wearing the Yoga Sling 2 sandal in these different places, each with a different type of terrain:
Beach
I wore my Yoga Sling 2 sandals to Horseshoe Bay Beach in Bermuda, and Maho Beach and Great Bay Beach in Sint Maarten. Usually I love walking on the sand in my bare feet, but the sand at the height of summer was so hot, it felt like a torture walk on hot coals! The Yoga Sling 2 sandals kept my feet cool and the casual design complimented my beachwear.

Cobblestone
The old town of San Juan, Puerto Rico is characterized by colonial Spanish buildings, cobblestoned streets and gentle slopes and hills. The more I wore the Yoga Sling 2 sandals, the more the yoga mat conformed to my feet just like memory foam. The comfort was key when walking through the cobblestoned streets and around the massive Castillo San Cristóbal.

After years spent wearing uncomfortable sandals, and flip flops that were ripping off after a week or two, I finally found exactly what I was looking for.
The price was reasonable in fact theyre pretty affordable for anatomic Yoga flip-flops. Im happy to share my great experience with Sanuk Womens Yoga Sling 2 Flip Flops.

Anyway, back to the sandals and my little review!
This pair managed to keep my feet safe, odour free, and were are completely relaxing to wear.
Honestly, I still have blister marks all over my feet from wearing rubber strapped flip flops and sandals.
I dont even want to remember that pain blisters that popped and got nasty infections from all the street dirt and beach sand.
When I discovered Sanuk Womens Yoga Sling 2 Flip Flops, I realized that my problems were over.
Finally, I found flip flops that were pretty much like sandals with fabric made straps and excellent footbed.
So I got two in one full sandal support with two straps in the back, and flip-flop strap in the front.
What Wasnt As Great
After wearing my Yoga Sling 2 sandals to the beach and getting them wet, I found the yoga mat material took a long time to dry. After drying them for 15 hours, the footbed was still damp.
The fabric straps are secured into nooks in the footbed. These nooks filled with sand at the beach and buried quite deep into the cavity of the nook. I was still discovering granules of sand days later. I didnt mind the sand as much, but it would be nice for the yoga mat to dry more quickly.

What Makes Them So Great
- The Yoga Sling 2 sandals were super comfortable because the yoga bed was soft.
- As the yoga mat started moulding to my feet like memory foam, there was a good amount of support overall in the arch and heel area that allowed me to wear them for over 20 000 steps in NYC.
- The stretchy two-way stretch knit sling didnt chafe any part of my feet. I also wore another pair of rubber-based sandal on the trip, which ended up giving me a blister due to extra chaffing in the heat. After that, I wore the Sanuk sandals for the rest of the trip.
- The sandals hardly take up any room in the suitcase, making them super easy and light to pack.
- The versatile style was casual enough for daytime wear and trendy enough for night life.
Sanuk Yoga Sling Its In The Details
How can something so conceptually basic stand out from similar sandals? It all comes down to its thoughtfully constructed details- the foot bed and straps.
Comprised from yoga mats, the sandal features a seal-edge anatomical footbed with arch support and heel pads. While the Yoga Sling 3 is designed to offer more support to hold and cradle the foot, while the Yoga Sling 2 is softer and more cushiony, thanks in part to EVA midsoles and Happy Ü sponge rubber outsoles. Flex grooves provide a wide range of motion.
The stretch knit straps are surprisingly soft and dont dig into skin, despite different ways I positioned them. More importantly, they didnt slip, as is so often the case with sandals after a period of time. I have rather bony feet, so sandals with non-slipping cloth straps was definitely a first. The Yoga Sling 2 is available in a variety of solid colors and prints, such as Grateful Dead and Airstream and includes Sanuks woven label flag.
The Yoga Sling 2 is completely packable and takes up little to no space. Theyre also a comfy car sandal to slip on after a long day of recreating in the outdoors. They are not, however, waterproof and the knit material straps will absorb moisture.
I found the Yoga Sling 2 to be true to size. However, if youre in between sizes, I recommend going one size up.
