Kundalini Yoga For Hormonal Balance

Easy Yoga Poses To Balance Out

Kundalini yoga for early menopause, hormone’s balance, eliminating fibroids and cysts, neuroses

Being a mother of four, I certainly know a thing or two about hormones! And Ive also found that yoga can be hugely beneficial to everyone when it comes to restoring natural hormonal balance, thereby helping to keep our physical and mental health in check.

The endocrine system, which is made up of a collection of hormone-producing glands, is essential to practically every function in the body. These functions range from energy levels to growth and development, as well as metabolism and sexual function. When you are struggling with a hormonal imbalance, you could suffer from a wide variety of symptomsincluding headaches, skin problems, insomnia, fatigue, weight gain, and mood problems. Its easy to see why keeping the endocrine system working at an optimal rate is essential to ongoing good health!

Certain yoga poses, like these three below, can stimulate the hormone-producing glands and help them maintain optimal function. This leads to consistent production and distribution of these hormones around the body. Yoga’s focus on breathing is also beneficial for stimulating the endocrine system, helping it to function more effectively. For natural relief from hormone-related symptoms, try adding these poses to your practice.

A Practice For Hormonal Balance

The following postures, combined with powerful breathing, are effective in helping to balance the emotions. You can practise them daily, or when you feel anxious or stressed. Choose one posture that resonates with you, or practise them in sequence as part of your daily routine. They will help to relieve tension in the ovaries and increase the circulation of your glandular secretions. They can be practised at any stage of your life, even if you are a beginner.

Quick Tip For Better Sleep

Fun Kundalini Yoga Dvd

Ever fall asleep just to jolt awake at 3 a.m.? Poor blood sugar management may be to blame. After all, stress doesnt exactly help with healthy eating habits. Plunging blood sugar can trigger an emergency response: hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and glucagon surge to extract glucose from the muscles and liver in order to feed the brain and body. The solution: Eat more wild-caught fish, legumes, nuts, seeds, and avocados. As slower-burning sources of energy, they can prevent spikes and crashes.

And How Do You Practice It

Hormone yoga combines asanas and specific breathing exercises with energy control. Thus, this type merges the physical Hatha Yoga with the energetic Kundalini Yoga. The use of rather dynamic asanas is supported with intensive pranayamas . For example Bhastrika Pranayama as well as Ujjayi Pranayama . This activates prana . The use of bandhas helps to keep the released energy in the body. Through breathing and visualization, prana is then directed to specific endocrine glands. This creates an effect on glands such as the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, and ovaries. These are finally stimulated and massaged at the same time.

The use of Tibetan energy guidance has a supporting effect. To achieve the desired benefits, regular daily practice is important. A sequence is started with dynamic warm-up exercises as well as stretching to prevent injury. Afterwards, a half-hour sequence is recommended.

Every single emotion, every passion and every action are determined by a hormone. Same applies to our health, the physical and mental state of being. We are not made like that, you are not a grumpy one, she is not a lazy one: We are biochemistry! Our capacity to love, understand, accept and even our mood, hunger, thirst, desire, ability to concentrate, to procreate, to resist, our way to live relationships, our sexual potency, everything is connected to our endocrine glands and their functioning.Prolonged stress, wrong food, lack of exercise, incoherent lifestyle, menopause and andropause are some of the main causes of the loss of hormonal balance.

Happiness is a state of the mind, depending on the complex interplay of chemicals in the brain.Their availability depends on the food we consume, what we think, physical activity, the interaction with the environment.A sense of well-being is the result of a balanced hormone level. Too much or too little may manifest as mania or respectively as depression.

If you are happy, happiness will come to you because happiness wants to go where happiness is. Yogi Bhajan

In this workshop we will explore dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, endorphins, the 4 hormones which directly are involved in our experience of happiness:

Dopamine causes a sense of contentment and happiness. It is involved in controlling the mood.

Endorphins make us feel good, reduce pain and anxiety.

Yoga for Hormonal Balance

According to avid yogis, Kundalini Yoga can help to achieve a certain level of balance and personal healing. This practice allows confrontation of both positive and negative thoughts, as well as unfamiliar emotions. Teaching users to embrace these thoughts and emotions, and develop a neutral zone for processing before reacting, is a key benefit of Kundalini Yoga. Emotions and thoughts are a part of us however, they can lead us to behave irrationally.

So What Does It Actually Mean

Hormone yoga is a therapeutic form of yoga and has its roots in physiology. It involves using various yoga poses to target the glands and organs responsible for hormone production. This effect is intensified by a combination of specific breathing exercises and Tibetan energy control. Thus, hormonal yoga is especially helpful in cases of hormonal imbalance. In addition, the relaxing effect of yoga through meditation and savasana has a positive influence to prevent stress, which is harmful for the production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is a holistic practice. And besides the effect on the hormones, it has also a positive impact on the metabolism, the immune system, and the circulation. Increased hormone production can also prevent diseases such as osteoporosis or cardiovascular diseases.

Techniques Used In Hormone Yoga Therapy

The techniques used in the therapy include: asanas , pranayama, mudras, bandhas, visualisation. We also work with the chakras. In order to stimulate the glands, we will practice dynamic asanas, along with powerful breathing.

Various types of breathing techniques are practiced during the class. To stimulate the glands, we use pranayama techniques involving strong abdominal breathing. For instance, breath of fire and full yogic breathing. Strong abdominal breathing moves the qi, prana, in the body and therefore improves circulation to the glands.

These breathing techniques can also be used daily when youre looking to find a little more calm or focus.

The practice consists of basic yoga poses and therefore you dont need to have any experience in yoga to start the therapy! You will be taken step by step through each pose, as well as the breathing techniques.

Relaxation is also an important part. Students are led through the practice of yoga nidra, a relaxing, meditative style of yoga that takes you into a dream-like state. This, consequently, has huge benefits on your mental wellbeing and sleep.

What Is Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga For Beginners

Kundalini in Hinduism refers to stored energy located at the base of the spine. Kundalini yoga is a meditational art, used to improve consciousness to awaken the Kundalini energy through activating energy centres named Chakras. To achieve a balance in the Chakras, Kundalini yoga consists of mixing breathing exercises, chanting mantras, postures and gestures. When carried out correctly through directed exercise combinations, students of Kundalini yoga note becoming aware of the flow of energy inside and outside of the body, awakening the Chakras to heal. This powerful flow and redirection of energy within the body can be felt along the spine to reach the top of the head, achieving a state of consciousness.

After Much Trial And Error I Can Say Without Hesitation That There Is Only Surrender Everything Else Is Pain

Stop allowing your mind to impose guidelines and behavioral principles for your day to day life. Most times we will end up abandoning these guidelines and principles anyway because the Kundalini has other ideas and as all of us know the Kundalini always gets its way and always has the last word regardless of the amount of pain we must feel.

Our personal will may want us to wake up at 5:30am and to meditate for 1 hour a day and execute a specific form of physical exercise or practice a certain form of yoga in the afternoon and achieve the required amount of productive work per day. Our personal will might tell us that if we arent moving forward than we are moving backwards. These beliefs have their place and can be helpful to a certain level, but they must be transcended if we are to go through this awakening in a smoother way with less pain and suffering.

When we force any kind of mental rule or order on ourselves we are not truly free in that moment. And the Kundalini has come into your life to free you! She is freeing you from all of the social conditioning that you have been inundated with through your lives. She wants you to stop doing the things you feel like you should and to step into your truth so that you can reclaim your sovereignty.

You may end up becoming MORE active and being more productive because you will have more energy flowing through you. The energy of God and the Universe will be flowing through you and supporting your movement.

What Is Hormone Yoga Therapy

It is a holistic practice used to reactivate hormone production. As a result, it is said to improve and even eliminate hormonal imbalances.

HYT includes a fixed set of yoga postures, breathing techniques and visualisations. It draws primarily on hatha and kundalini yoga poses and practices.

Breath techniques alongside yoga poses activate the following glands: the hypophysis, thyroid, adrenal, and ovarian glands. The stimulation of these glands is increased by the application of mudras and bandhas alongside a Tibetan energy technique.

A bandha is also known as a body lock, whereas mudras are gestures with the fingers and hands. Both are used to help energy flow into certain parts of the body.

The Science Of Why Stress Management Is Key To Balance

When we talk about hormonal balance in women, I believe stress management is a good place to start. We work at such a crazed pace in our culture, and we value doingthere is no surrender of being. Though we dont face tigers every day, we live in constant state of fight-or-flight.

The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis is a negative feedback loop that regulates stress response. Within seconds of encountering stress, the brains hypothalamus secretes corticotropin-releasing hormone , initiating a game of telephone. CRH tells the anterior pituitary gland to produce adrenocorticotropic hormone, which prompts the adrenals to release cortisol.

The stress hormone cortisol plays a critical role in quality of sleep. Cortisol and melatonin have an inverse relationship, tag-teaming your circadian rhythms. At night, with cortisol at bay, you fall asleep as melatonin peaks. Then, melatonin tapers as cortisol gradually rises until it spikes and awakens you the next morning. Cortisol ebbs during the day as melatonin rises, culminating in bedtime. And so on.

But chronic stress scrambles this process. Cortisol levels skyrocket into the evening, and an overwhelming week can both exhaust you and cause insomnia.

Advice published by the NHS discusses how polluting our bodies with junk food and artificial chemicals in the form of additives and flavourings can lead to detrimental health problems. However, another form of pollution coexists in the way of negative thoughts and emotions, according to Sennett Richard in his book: The uses of disorder: personal identity and city life. In his analysis, losing a sense of self and personal identity is a stifling crisis. It is experienced by many modern-day city workers who feel they are frozen in place and time, unsure where to go and what to do next. If you feel synonymous to the above, then consider Kundalini yoga. Those who have turned to Kundalini Yoga have reported increased consciousness, which has helped connect with intuition, improving decision-making and the removal of negative thoughts, which can sometimes distract us from the small joys of life.

One of the basic exercises that will get your glandular system in order is breath of fire for three minutes a day. When you hit that three-minute mark, the pituitary and pineal glands start to release a very specific secretion that puts the glands back into balance.

BREATH OF FIRE

Sit in a cross-legged position with your spine straight and rest your hands on your knees in gyan mudra .

Close your eyes and roll them gently up and in towards the brown point or third eye.

Rhythmically and steadily inhale and exhale evenly through both nostrils.

Mentally say sat on the inhale and nam on the exhale.
