Steps To Get An Certification
To become an RYT , you must complete a 200-hour RYS training first, which includes foundational/basic concepts that will help you get started as a yoga teacher.
Once you have completed this training, you will be eligible to become an RYT 200. Then, after completing a 300-hour training and logging 100 post-training teaching hours, you may choose to complete an RYS 300 training, which will provide you with a greater breadth and depth of knowledge.
After completing an RYS 300 training and logging 100 post-training teaching hours, you will be eligible to become RYT 500.
The International 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification is available online through Rajadhiraja Yoga Teacher Training.

All Other Schools Not Approved By The Ya Are Worse
It would be a mistake to presume that all schools, not approved by the YA, are worse than those which are. However, with YA approval you can be sure that the school has had their curriculum AND their teachers verified.

Get Some Practice Teaching Yoga
Step number four is, you want to practice so teach. I think a lot of people think theyre gonna do their 200-hour certification and feel really confident right off the bat.
The reality is it takes years to build up that confidence, to have a presence in your teaching, to really have a strong voice.
So you wanna start practice teaching everyone you can.
Teach your mom, your dog, anyone wholl listen to you. Offer free yoga classes and practice yoga both on and off the yoga mat.
Just start logging those teaching hours, because, just like anything in life, the more you do it, the better youre gonna get.
While you certainly learn to teach in training courses, it doesnt mean that youre necessarily ready to do so. Just like knowing the yoga asanas doesnt mean that you can stick them, knowing teaching methodology doesnt mean that youre ready.

What Yoga Alliance Is Not
As far as we know, the Yoga Alliance does not send undercover agents, disguised as Yoga students, to check out the quality of training. Even if they did, they could never check them all. Or maybe they do, and they do an excellent job of going unnoticed
The Yoga Alliance works on an honor-based system. Therefore they cannot guarantee that the curriculum submitted by a school will be the exact curriculum that is taught. However, you have to wonder, would a school go to the lengths of creating a curriculum, submitting it, and not bothering to teach it?
Ultimately, The Registered Yoga School title is based on the number of hours spent teaching specified topics. It cannot guarantee the quality of exactly what is taught in class.

Yes, you want to do a yoga teacher training, and the most common format is to do whats called a 200-hour teacher training.
So you cover a lot of material in 200 hours, everything from teaching, anatomy, philosophy. You wanna do research on where you do this 200-hour training, because its really gonna teach you everything you need to know about how to be a successful teacher.
While most yoga studios will focus on vinyasa yoga or vinyasa flow in their certification program, you can totally choose a yoga instructor training that focuses on the yoga and meditation style that most interests you. There are many types of yoga, from restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, yoga nidra, Ashtanga yoga, to yin yoga, you definitely have a lot to choose from.
You can do a 200-hour training all at once, in a month-long in-person intensive, over the course of many weekends, or you can even do a 200-hour training online. There are a lot of different types of training depending on the style of yoga, like:

What Is The Last Date For Online Teacher Training Exemption And By When It Must Be Completed In Order To Be Recognized By Yoga Alliance
As of 31st August 2021, this is what Yoga Alliance had on their website.
Based on the above as long as you have started your program in 2021, you have 2022 to complete it. I have a confirmation email from the Yoga Alliance on this. But on 31st August they have changed it and now they are going to open up the OTE up to 31st December 2023. But for that, every school will need to submit the application again once its open on 4th October 2021. Once the program has been approved, you should have up to 31st December 2023 to complete your program.
