How Long Does It Take To Get Yoga Certified

    1-hour Aerial Yoga Lesson 4 – Chest | Beginner-Intermediate Class | CamiyogAIR

This depends on the level of training that you get, including continuing education courses. It also depends on where you complete your training. A standard 200-hour immersion course will be about a month long, whereas your local yoga studio likely offers courses over weekends over the course of 6 months.

Dont Let Fear Get The Better Of You

Being hoisted into the air in your yoga swing can be a little scary and this is totally natural but when you are learning how to start aerial yoga, it is important that you let go of any fear and try to enjoy the practice.

Its meant to be calming, after all.

Provided that you are either under the instruction of a trained professional, or are somewhat used to it and are being careful its highly unlikely that you will fall out of the swing and cause yourself a serious injury.

One of the great things about any type of yoga is that it is hugely beneficial to the mind, but if you allow your mind to get the better of you, this can spoil the experience.

So now you know how to start aerial yoga, head into your first class with an open mind and you may surprise yourself at just how capable you are.

    Anyone Can Start Aerial Yoga!

More and more people are looking to get started with aerial yoga and the trend doesnt look set to slow down any time soon. And its not surprising when we think about the benefits that come along with aerial yoga and how easy it is to get started.

There is some belief that starting this practice is a complicated process and requires mounds of equipment, good knowledge and the body of a God, or Goddess. But this couldnt be further from the truth.

Whilst many people worry that they wont be able to get to grips with it, they are often surprised at how easy it is.

    Get Some Practice Teaching Yoga

Step number four is, you want to practice so teach. I think a lot of people think theyre gonna do their 200-hour certification and feel really confident right off the bat.

The reality is it takes years to build up that confidence, to have a presence in your teaching, to really have a strong voice.

So you wanna start practice teaching everyone you can.

Teach your mom, your dog, anyone wholl listen to you. Offer free yoga classes and practice yoga both on and off the yoga mat.

Just start logging those teaching hours, because, just like anything in life, the more you do it, the better youre gonna get.

While you certainly learn to teach in training courses, it doesnt mean that youre necessarily ready to do so. Just like knowing the yoga asanas doesnt mean that you can stick them, knowing teaching methodology doesnt mean that youre ready.

So get as much experience as you can!

What Is The Role Of A Yoga Instructor

    Yoga Trapeze® | Become a Certified Instructor

Before you become a certified yoga teacher, lets get clear on the role of a yoga teacher.

When you look at a yoga asana class from the outside, you see things from a simple lens. The yoga teacher is teaching and guiding the students, and the students are receptive and learning from the teacher.

However, it is not as simple as it looks from the outside. A yoga teachers role in teaching is multi-dimensional. A yoga teacher does not merely teach students how to perform asanas but also is a guide for the students.

A yoga teachers role is to help students bloom into their best selves and to hold space for students as they learn about who they are. Yoga means union- the union of body, mind and soul. A yoga teachers role is to guide students to achieve this inner union of body, mind and soul.

The teachers role is to push students to the best of their abilities but also know when not to push and let the students find their unique ways. Students learn a lot from their yoga teachers like children a lot from adults.

Yoga teachers have an essential responsibility to bring out the best in students, to influence and impact students in a positive way that changes their lives for the better.

The yoga teacher has a crucial responsibility to be a lighthouse for her students.

The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training

Please Note: The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program is only available to Certified Yoga Instructors. We also highly recommend that you take several Unnata Aerial Yoga classes, or have some prior experience with the aerial yoga hammock before attending the course.

So youve fallen heels over head in love with Aerial Yoga, and youre ready to follow your passion into a more profound exploration through an Aerial Yoga Teacher Training.

The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training provides far more than a foundation to teach Aerial Yoga. Its a deep immersion into a unique method of Yoga that uses the support of the hammock to explore, refine and advance traditional asana, both in the air and on the ground.

As a result of this course, you will be ready to teach fun, safe, and innovative Unnata Yoga classes to diverse populations. And you will assimilate the ah-has you learn in the hammock into how you teach traditional Yoga, too.

This course will make you a better Yoga teacher. Youll discover fine distinctions about your regular practice that would take years of intensive study to realize in any other way. The Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training will inform and empower how you teach every style of Yoga and other movement art.

    Help Students Deal With Pain

    Students come to yoga to alleviate many bodily issues such as back pain, lack of flexibility, and stiff joints. Aerial yoga places a huge emphasis on the back area and targets the spine directly, helping students heal their back pain.;

The more flexible the spine, the stronger it gets. This reason is why students who practice aerial yoga regularly tend to have little to no pain, even if theyre seniors. Moreover, aerial yoga helps them decompress the spine if theyve had surgery and stayed in bed too long without any exercise.

    The aerodynamics of the hammocks release the pent-up tension in the body once the student starts the practice. During the first 10 minutes of aerial yoga practice, most students report relaxation in muscles and ligaments. This relaxation helps get rid of all pain because it strengthens the muscles, joints, and ligaments.;

Is Online Yoga Teacher Training Worth It

This totally depends on the training courses that youre looking at and who the lead trainers are. Some yoga companies are just churning out training courses without offering much hands-on experience, personalized guidance from the trainers, or even quality education. These kinds of training courses are often sold for less than $500 and are more for those interested in a quick and dirty pseudo yoga teacher certificate than for those who are genuinely interested in learning the history of yoga, proper asana technique, teaching methodology from an experienced yoga instructor, or pranayama breathing techniques.

My online teacher training program, for example, provides TONS of hands-on experience through live Zoom calls and opportunities for teaching experience. I offer quality pre-recorded lessons on human anatomy, pranayama breathing, teaching methodology, and alignment and THEN we come together to discuss it all. In an online program like mine, you get teaching experience and quality feedback from an experienced yoga instructor , which is quite uncommon for most online programs.
