Why Our Students Love Our Bali Location
Living on Nusa Lembongan for the month of my yoga teacher training was a dream. The island is a calm oasis away from the busier Bali hotspots and you are spoilt with things to do. I liked being able to spend downtime exploring the island, learning how to surf and taking in the beautiful natural environment. The best part for me was the yoga shala, which opens out onto the beach. I loved practicing to the soothing sound of the waves. The island’s calming energy was a really good environment for learning it helps to create space in the mind and better focus.
All Yoga have really found the perfect spot for their teacher training. I loved Nusa Lembongan’s mellow vibe and super friendly locals, not to mention jaw-dropping sunsets. The biggest surprise I had when I arrived was the vast choice of healthy, eco-conscious and affordable cafes and restaurants around. Whether we craved authentic, local cuisine or simple, nutritious dishes, we really were spoilt for choice! I was happy to find that my tricky dietary requirements were the least of my worries, and I was able to fuel my body with nourishing and varied food throughout the entire course.

How To Get A Yoga Teacher Certificate
To get a yoga certification that would enable you teach yoga or open your own yoga studio in the united states, you have to get some level of training with a school that is registered with Yoga Alliance, the biggest yoga organisation in the states, or any other popular yoga organisation. Yoga Alliance is a U.S.-based nonprofit membership trade and professional organization for yoga teachers.
The organization is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. Their mission is to promote and support the integrity and diversity of the teaching of yoga. In order to bring some consistency to the burgeoning market of teacher training programs, The Yoga Alliance was formed in 1997. The Yoga Alliance sets minimum standards for teacher training programs. Programs that meet these standards and pay a fee can market their trainings as Yoga Alliance Approved.
Graduates of these trainings can then register with the Yoga Alliance and then promote themselves as RYT Registered Yoga Teachers. Registration is available at 4 different levels: RYT 200, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, and E-RYT 500. The E stands for experienced and indicates a certain number of hours teaching since the completion of teacher training.
Once you have completed your training and earned your certification, you have gained the right to place the initials CYT after your name to signify your certification. This initials greatly boosts your credibility in the yoga community at large.

A School That Offers The Style And Level Of Yoga You Want To Learn
First, set your heart and mind on the yoga style you want to learn and then find a Yoga Alliance and QCI registered school that offers that style.
Multi-style yoga teacher training courses include two or more forms combined. Generally, a yoga course provides a single style of yoga, but multi-style yoga offers two or more styles combined. Ashtanga and Hatha, Iyengar and Hatha and other combinations are offered.
Ashtanga is an ancient style of yoga that includes performing specific asanas in a particular sequence while coordinating the breath with the movements.
Hatha yoga is the most widely practised style of yoga, which involved holding each asana for several seconds. This style of yoga is the slow and steady style of yoga.
Iyengar yoga is a more therapeutic form of yoga which was invented by BKS Iyengar to heal a severe health issue he was facing. Iyengar yogas primary focus is the alignment of the body during asanas, and it uses blocks, straps, blankets, chairs and other props for asana practice.
Get Registered For Ryt
Once you are done with the life-changing and transformative yoga teacher training course, you can register for RYT.
It is not compulsory for you to register as an RYT, but it is definitely beneficial and useful. You will be more credible all around the world if you are an RYT. As an RYT, you will have more job options. But, at the end of it all, what really matters is how good a yoga teacher you are.
If you are an excellent yoga teacher, chances are your yoga career is already very bright. But being registered as an RYT gives you more visibility and credibility not only in America but all over the world.
The world of yoga is changing. A few years earlier registration as an RYT or any other registration wasnt necessary. But as yoga spreads like wildfire, it has become more critical to maintain the quality and high standards of yoga.
This quality and high standard is maintained through the RYT, Yoga Alliance and QCI qualifications.

Does Yoga Teacher Training Guarantee A Job
Earning a yoga instructor certification certainly improves your job prospects, but it does not guarantee you a job. Your ability to get a part-time or full-time job as a yoga instructor depends on several factors, including your certification, your skills and knowledge, yoga teacher openings in your area, and whether or not you can find a studio thats a good fit for you.
Remember, though, that becoming a registered yoga teacher also opens up self-employment possibilities. Many yoga instructors make money by creating content online for Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and blogging platforms. You can also create your own website to host live yoga classes or sell yoga courses and programs.

I Want To Deepen My Practice Should I Get My Teaching Certification
This is a tricky question and Ive gotten it from several friends on Facebook and just in casual conversation. I have a contradictory answer.
On the one hand, if you just want to deepen your own personal practice, learn more about the ethics and spirituality of yoga, learn to meditate, or cultivate more difficult asana, I would recommend that you attend retreats, intensives or workshops. I dont think you necessarily need teacher training.
Teacher training is a huge financial commitment , as well as time/life commitment. My training program lasts over a year every 5-6 weeks, I spend a whole weekend in training. And there are more intense schedules than that, of course you can complete your training in an intense two weeks or one month course.
I think if you are just wanting to learn something specific, like how to bring the yamas and niyamas into your life, or how to master arm balances that you attend a retreat or workshop focused on that subject.
Can You Get Yoga Certified Online
It depends. The Yoga Alliance is the most well-known organization that provides an RYT certification, though they dont provide those certificates to those who graduate from an online program. The YA traditionally requires contact hours to qualify for an RYT certification. Recently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they temporarily allowed yoga schools to offer their programs online.

What Is Yoga Alliance
Yoga Alliance is a registration body for yoga schools and yoga teachers. There are a number of other registration bodies all over the world, but Yoga Alliance is the largest and most common.
As mentioned on their site, Yoga Alliance does not certify schools and they are not an accreditation body like youd see with universities or in other industries. While they dont actually certify the schools, they do sort of behave like an accreditation body in some ways. In order to register with Yoga Alliance, youll need to attend a training by a school registered with Yoga Alliance and the training will need to be conducted by teachers who are registered with Yoga Alliance.
The way a training will work is that Yoga Alliance has a set of standards that each school needs to follow, and each school will submit their curriculum to Yoga Alliance in order to have their training approved. For example, they will ask for a certain number of hours to be completed for Anatomy, or Practice, or Technique, etc. Yoga Alliance has a few different types of registration credentials which are aligned with the way training is typically conducted.
What Kind Of Insurance Do You Need For Teaching Yoga
As a yoga teacher, it is most likely that you will work as a freelancer or an entrepreneur. The rules for insurance might be different in each country, and it is not an easy task to get an overview in the regulations. One thing that is very important to consider, is liability insurance. Some reasons to get an insurance for yoga teachers are:
- You will be working with a variety of people in your classes and some might be at risk of injuries.
- An insurance might also protect you for any damage done while working in studios, gyms or other locations.
- Liability insurances protect you for the financial risk of a lawsuit or other legal processes.
Some alliances for yoga teachers offer the possibility to join a collective liability insurance, which might be one reason to become a member. However, you can also choose to get your own liability insurance, independent of any yoga alliance .
Tips for getting your insurance:
- Instead of searching for a specific yoga teacher insurance, look for physical instructor liability insurance. Since yoga has been rising in popularity over the past few years, yoga teacher insurance fees have become inflated.
- If you are teaching at studios and gyms, you might be covered by their insurance. Ask the owner about their regulations.
- Also take a legal aid insurance, which covers the costs of legal procedures and often also offers the help of jurists and lawyers.
