Himalaya Yoga Valley Raises 16710 For Charity This Summer
Yoga in the Park, one of Cork’s most popular outdoor weekly events has come to an end for another year and once again the event has been a huge success! Yoga in the Park is an award winning community initiative which is organised by the team at Himalaya Yoga Valley Cork. They were thrilled to hand over 16,710 to their two chosen charities Cork Simon Community and Pieta House which were the full proceeds of all the donations made over the Summer months by the yogis of Cork. 10,395 was presented to the Cork Simon Community which were the proceeds from Yoga in the Park at Fitzgerald’s Park and 6,315 to Pieta House which were the proceeds from Yoga in the Park at Regional Park Ballincollig.

Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre The Modern
Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre has been sharing accessible, authentic and affordable yoga with the people of Cork for six years. They run over 60 classes a week at their centres in Penrose Wharf, Cork City and Ballincollig. They are dedicated to improving the health, happiness and wellbeing of their clients and communities.
Himalaya Yoga Valley have raised over 40,000 for Cork Simon Community through their Yoga in the Park initiative at Fitzgerald Park. Due to the success of their Ballincollig yoga studio, which opened last year, they launched a second Yoga in the Park in Ballincollig Regional Park this Summer, with all donations going to Pieta House.
Their centres in Cork City and Ballincollig are sanctuaries from modern day stress and their clients always leave feeling better than when they arrived! Yoga in the Park Returns to Cork!
Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre are delighted to announce the return of one of Corks most popular outdoor weekly events. Yoga in The Park for Cork Simon Community kicks off again on Saturday 2nd June 2018 in Fitzgeralds Park.
Every Saturday, yoga enthusiasts and novices will stretch it out in aid of Cork Simon Community to help fight homelessness through yoga. Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre will host this weekly donation yoga class every Saturday morning from 10:00am-11.15am in front of the bandstand. Last year, each weekly class saw up to 250 people join the Himalaya Yoga Valley team for Yoga in the Park!
Yoga in the Park has been a resounding success since Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre started hosting it in 2014. The outdoor yoga classes along with their meditation by donations classes which run at their centres in Penrose Wharf and Ballincollig have raised over 40,000 to date for the Cork Simon Community. Cork Simon’s Director, Dermot Kavanagh, said the backing of the wider community is crucial in tackling the ongoing housing and homeless crisis. He said, “Himalaya Yoga Valley and everyone who attends Yoga in the Park are very much playing their part. For that, we’re very grateful.”
