Benefits Of Yoga Teacher Training
Let us know how choosing a yoga teacher training program helps you become the best version of yourself.
1. Connect with the Spiritual Self
Yoga goes much beyond the physical practice of asanas. Under the watchful eye of an experienced yoga teacher, you get the opportunity to develop spiritual practices. With regular meditation, chanting of mantras, and in-depth study of Yoga Sutras, you are able to connect with the spiritual self.
2. Boosts Confidence and Form Lasting Relationships
Making mistakes is part of learning something new. That is how you evolve in yoga practice. You will face difficulties while practicing specific yoga postures. The mistakes and difficulties help you develop a tough mindset to face everyday life with more positivity. With a yoga teacher certification, you have the chance to meet like-minded people and form long-lasting relationships.
3. Best Opportunity to Know the Self
Yoga, therefore, is not just another exercise regimen but an experience in itself. Also, yoga teacher training helps you develop body awareness and keep the mind calm. You become more self-aware after controlling the body and mind. In other words, yoga helps you become more comfortable in your skin and develop self-love.
4. Advance the Yogic Practices
5. Chance to Become a Certified Teacher
Short Term Or Long Term Program
In a short term, the intensive course would definitely be the opportunity of a lifetime to fully immerse yourself into the yoga lifestyle, as you would have set aside all other obligations to fully commit to present during the course. This allows you to be more focused on what is being taught and what is happening daily, with minimum distractions from the outside world. The daily schedule, food, and environment are also designed specifically to encourage the best yogic experience.
The obvious downside to an intensive course is that you might simply be incapable of taking such time off from work or other pursuits. Delaying obligations might cause you to stress throughout the course, which would be highly counterproductive.
A long term course that runs over a few weekends would not require you to take time off from work, and you can likewise maintain your personal life outside of training hours . This would also be preferable for people who have familial obligations and cannot, for whatever circumstances, be away from home for long.
Another benefit of a weekend course is that you will have more time in between classes to absorb and process what is being taught, so you have more time with your teachers to ask questions and clarify anything you are unsure about.
However, a weekend course will not immerse you in the full experience of a yoga lifestyle, as the majority of the week is spent in the hustle and bustle of your normal lifestyle.

A School That Offers The Style And Level Of Yoga You Want To Learn
First, set your heart and mind on the yoga style you want to learn and then find a Yoga Alliance and QCI registered school that offers that style.
Multi-Style
Multi-style yoga teacher training courses include two or more forms combined. Generally, a yoga course provides a single style of yoga, but multi-style yoga offers two or more styles combined. Ashtanga and Hatha, Iyengar and Hatha and other combinations are offered.
Ashtanga Vinyasa
Ashtanga is an ancient style of yoga that includes performing specific asanas in a particular sequence while coordinating the breath with the movements.
Hatha
Hatha yoga is the most widely practised style of yoga, which involved holding each asana for several seconds. This style of yoga is the slow and steady style of yoga.
Iyengar
Iyengar yoga is a more therapeutic form of yoga which was invented by BKS Iyengar to heal a severe health issue he was facing. Iyengar yogas primary focus is the alignment of the body during asanas, and it uses blocks, straps, blankets, chairs and other props for asana practice.

Choose A Teacher Training Program
Number three, you definitely wanna do some kind of training.
Yes, you want to do a yoga teacher training, and the most common format is to do whats called a 200-hour teacher training.
So you cover a lot of material in 200 hours, everything from teaching, anatomy, philosophy. You wanna do research on where you do this 200-hour training, because its really gonna teach you everything you need to know about how to be a successful teacher.
While most yoga studios will focus on vinyasa yoga or vinyasa flow in their certification program, you can totally choose a yoga instructor training that focuses on the yoga and meditation style that most interests you. There are many types of yoga, from restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, yoga nidra, Ashtanga yoga, to yin yoga, you definitely have a lot to choose from.
You can do a 200-hour training all at once, in a month-long in-person intensive, over the course of many weekends, or you can even do a 200-hour training online. There are a lot of different types of training depending on the style of yoga, like:
If you do do something online, make sure that its interactive, and youre getting direct feedback and support from a teacher over video conference.
Thats exactly how my online training works, and if youre interested in the online option, Ill also link that up in the cards and description.

What Is The Difference Between A 200 300 And 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Ive seen many people get confused with these trainings, so lets clarify quickly: A 200 hour yoga teacher training needs to be completed before anything else. Many people think you can start with either a 200 hour training, or a 300 hour training, but a 300 hour yoga teacher training should only be completed AFTER a 200 hour yoga teacher training has been completed. A 500 hour certification is a combination of a 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher training.
Typically, students will finish a 200 hour course before anything else. The 200 hour program might be focused on a specific area such as Vinyasa, or Hatha yoga or it might be a multi-style yoga teacher training course. If the school is registered with Yoga Alliance, it doesnt really matter whether there is a specific area of focus for the training. Yoga Alliance will only recognize a 200 hour training . Lets take a look at the credentials that Yoga Alliance uses because those draw up a lot of questions as well.
What To Expect During The Course

Becoming a yoga teacher is a once in a lifetime opportunity. During these four weeks of Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, you will go through different phases. For example, in the first week, you may feel a bit tired because you might not be used to studying 810 hours a day. You will also begin your teaching practice from day two onward. If you have never taught before, you may be surprised at how much you enjoy teaching. You will receive authentic, yet approachable, yoga philosophy classes and feel inspired by the philosophical stories of Ram Jain.
In the second week, you will have settled in and become accustomed to the rhythm of the ashram life. Your body and mind will be more aligned after the first week of training and practice. You will see improvements in your meditation and asana practice, even if you struggle with the new challenges during the ‘how to teach’ class. As you share this experience with other like-minded and dedicated people, in week two, you will start to develop friendships with fellow students.
In the third week, you will make the biggest leaps in physical and mental development, and your previous weeks’ efforts will bear the fruit here. You will notice that you are gradually becoming more skilled and confident while teaching and that you have grown immensely in your understanding of yoga postures and yoga anatomy. You will be completely immersed in the classes.

Am I The Right Age To Do A Yoga Certification Course
There is no age limit when it comes to doing a training. Yoga is a practice for anyone and everyone to enjoy regardless of their age, experience, or background. We all arrive at the practice of yoga at different stages in our lives and emotional maturity is something required in all students during a course.
Ryt = Registered Yoga Teacher
It is a credential specific to Yoga Alliance and in order to list yourself as a RYT-200 youll need to complete a 200 hour yoga teacher training thats been registered with Yoga Alliance. If somebody is an RYT-500, that means theyve completed a 500 hour program. Or it could mean that theyve completed a 200 hour course, and then afterwards they completed a 300 hour course. 200 + 300 = 500!
