Supta Virasana Reclining Hero Pose
This reclining posture is a subtle backbend through the spine as well as a deep stretch into the quadriceps, hips, and ankles. It also creates the deepest flexion of the knee joint, so always practice this posture with caution. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a stretch through the knee and if you feel any pain around the knee joint, then simply skip this pose. Start sitting in a kneeling position. Lift your seat up off of your heels and open your feet wider than your hips. Keep your toes pointing straight back behind you and slowly relax your seat down between your ankles. If this feels too intense, you can prop up your seat by sitting onto a blanket or pillow. Again, if you feel any pain near the knee, then do not practice this posture. From here, if your hips are elevated on a prop then stay as you are. If your seat is connected with the bed and it feels appropriate, you can slowly begin to walk your hands behind you and relax your elbows toward the bed. You can stay here or, if it feels comfortable, you can release your whole back toward the bed. Keep your knees touching and drawing into the midline and your feet pointing straight back behind you. Relax your tailbone toward your knees to elongate the lower back. You can relax your arms wherever feels comfortable and breathe into all the openings. When youre ready, release the pose reversing the steps you took to come into it.
Understand The Core Of Yoga
Yoga is not about extreme flexibility or contorting your muscles and spine into fancy shapes.
It’s about breathing, finding inner strength through meditation, and creating freedom in the body with basic yoga poses.
It’s truly that simple.
So dont worry about losing weight or bending over backwards . Instead, understand that yoga is a process and a lifestyle. The physical practice is only one of the eight limbs of yoga.

Yoga Helps With Back Pain Relief
Yoga is as good as basic stretching for easing pain and improving mobility in people with lower back pain. Use Stuff Around The House As Accessories

If you dont have a yoga mat, dont worry about it. If youre short on cash, a beach towel can suffice until you can get a cheap mat. If you need extra traction on your cheap mat, throw a towel on top of it. My first yoga mat was my dads old threadbare Pilates mat, and I made that bad boy work for years.
You can make yoga props out of whatever you have handy. For instance, my first yoga block was a Star Wars VHS box set and my first yoga strap was my dogs leash. Couch cushions are a good stand-in for yoga bolsters if youve got em handy.
You dont need to buy special clothesjust find something that you can move in comfortably. And if youre at home, dont be afraid to practice naked.

Choose Your Yoga Style / Routine
What are you going to do when you are on your mat? The first question to ask is..;What do my body and mind need?
Something active;like;Vinyasa Flow,;to get the juices flowing or something more soft and;restorative, to quiet your body and mind?;The more you do yoga, the more you learn the effects of different practices and the more you learn to recognise what it is your body and mind need at different times.;
If you pick an online class, dont get stuck in reading too many class descriptions. The nature of the mind is to look for the perfect class to solve everything. That class doesnt exist; you have to make it yourself. You can also decide to pick a;yoga program;where weve put together a series of classes that fit well together or choose from;Playlists, playlists of classes your fellow members and EkhartYoga teachers have compiled.
Pick a style, teacher, specific use and preferred class duration from the filters on the;classes;page, look for a title that speaks to you and go for it!;The way you make the class perfect for you is through practising with full awareness, with as little resistance as possible. If there is a part you dont like, breathe through it and observe your reactions. Remember that how you react on the mat seeps through in how you react in daily life. In daily life, you will also come across situations you dont like and choose not to change or are unable to change. Remember Pattabhi Jois words ;Do your practice and all is coming.
How To Begin Practicing At Home
The first day of my two-year teacher training program, I experienced something akin to an existential crisis. It didnt have anything to do with awakening kundalini or realizing my true Self. Sadly, it was much more mundane: It hit when I realized that in order to participate in the program, I had to agree to the mandate to have your own home practice.
A few days later, when I unrolled my sticky mat at home alone for the first time, I wanted to bolt. Up until then my idea of yoga was attending a class, which is kind of like being chauffeured around town, sitting comfortably in the back seat, enjoying the scenery. Practicing at home was totally foreign to me. It was as if someone handed me car keys but no map. I recognized great potential for freedom in my journey, but I was reluctant to go it aloneI was scared that Id get lost.
Since that day of reckoning, Ive talked to enough friends and students about the dreaded home practice issue to know Im not alone. Many of useven after we realize the benefits of a personal practiceseem to resist it. We tell ourselves that we dont have enough space or time or that we dont know what to do. Or we hold a romanticized vision of the perfect home practice and feel guilty when our reality doesnt match the fantasy.

Launching a Self-Guided Practice
If youre not used to practicing on your own, it can feel daunting at first, especially if youre used to being guided. Here are a few tips for getting started.

Does Sucking Your Own Dick Make You Gay
This is a no-brainer question, but lets get practical about the answer. Many gay guys will suck their own cocks just to practice the act on themselves before moving on their boyfriends. They want to ensure that their cock-licking technique is A-1.
Cocksucking is technically a gay act because you are essentially sucking a dick, but some people would say that self sucking is masturbation because you are doing it to yourself for pleasure. Only one person is involved. But on the flip side, when you think about the visuals of your own cum dripping from the side of your mouth from sucking your own dick would be considered gay to many.
If you cannot please yourself, how can you please someone else?

Anna has the following tips that she says you should keep in mind every time you roll out that yoga mat:
Always warm up. Every yoga class starts with breathing, stretching and smaller postures that articulate the spine, create space in the body and stretch the fascia to prepare you for your practice.
Start small. There is no point jumping into inversions or some of the more Instagram-able poses. Especially if you dont have trained eyes keeping you safe.
Nail the basics. Some of the simplest postures are the most difficult to do, and the easiest to do incorrectly. Its important to get the essentials correct before progressing to a more challenging practice.
Check In On Your Alignment As You Go
If youre new to yoga or new to practicing on your own, its a good idea to make sure youre getting into positions that are safe. Dont be afraid to rewind or pause an online class so you can take a second look at what your teacher is doing. If youre flowing on your own without an online class, cross-reference your postures with books, websites like Yoga Journals Pose Library, and YouTube tutorials by teachers like Kino Macgregor.
If you want to watch your practice in action, you can practice in front of a mirror or even record photos and/or video footage on your phone or camera. I know, it can be kinda weird to watch your body at first, but its a dope tool for checking alignment. This is how Ive refined my own postural alignment for years, and its the whole reason I started .
