Who Created Buti Yoga

Founded back in 2012, the trainer that brings us Buti yoga is Bizzie Gold. She is known to have coached and worked with celebrities to shape and mold their bodies for Hollywood. Her empire has grown to include more than 1,000 instructors and over 15 countries worldwide. Generally marketed towards women as a tool for empowerment and is available for streaming and now on DVD.


Inspired to create a deeper connection between body, mind, and spirit, Buti yogas name is derived from an Indian Marathi language. Buti translates to the cure to something hidden. This translation is referring to the feminine divine energy that rests within us.

Buti Yoga Vs Traditional Yoga

Most of the moves in Buti Yoga come from standard yoga,” Wyland Capell points out. “You can expect to do downward facing dog, Warrior I, II and III, childs pose, triangle, chaturanga, upward facing dog, chair pose, and so on.” She explains that the main difference is that in Buti Yoga you dont hold these positions like you would in a vinyasa class. You move through them using the spiral structure technique that comes from your ribcage and dynamic variations which include, toe taps, floor slaps, pulses front to back, heel raises and drumming.

You will learn the static shake at the beginning of class. “Its what we use in-between movements after we have burned out a muscle to release the fascia,” Wyland Capell says. “Your legs are in a wide-legged goddess pose with toes pointing toward the mirror. Your back is slightly bent forward, and you can have a slight bend in your knees to take any stress off your lower back. Then you will move your feet side to side like a penguin.”


Throughout the session, Buti Yoga instructors are there to teach and most importantly, support you. “You will be shown the correct way to plank,” Wyland Capell says. “Your butt will be slightly raised in plank to protect your lower back. There are many different movements to do in this position from spiraling the hips to lowering into pushups.

Dr. Oz talked to Bizzie Gold, founder of Buti Yoga, who showed him the incredible workout system that gave her amazing abs after having two babies.

There were two tracks you could choose: personal or business development. Naturally, I chose business. What I didnt expect was to uproot so many limiting beliefs that have held me back for so long, all living like a disease in my root chakra. We uprooted, then worked through these limiting beliefs in an attempt to notice patterns so we can correct these negative behaviors when they come up again. Over the course of 3 days, I got my booty kicked in two 100-minute Buti classes. Sweat dripped from every pour. I ate a diet of high protein + veggies. I faced and overcame a personal fear, and left transformed with sisters from around the world who share a common love of igniting the fire from within. What Are Some Moves Of Buti Yoga

When entering a classroom for Buti Yoga, expect more than the traditional yoga moves. Consider the more fast-paced dance moves, with jumping movements that will cause one to produce a good amount of sweat and leave feeling awakened, refreshed, and revitalized.

  • Climber: It works the abdominal muscles, strengthens the arms, back, and legs. To begin this move, start in the plank position. Inhale to engage the core, and to drop the hips down. Exhale and slightly lift hips, round the back towards the ceiling, keep head lifted, pull the left knee towards the chest, and then returnalternate sides.
  • Break-It-Down: This exercise stimulates the abdominal muscles, back, and strengthens the butt and legs. To begin, start with feet shoulder length apart, bending over, keeping the legs straight. Engage and pivot feet to the left and bend both knees. Drop right knee towards the center but keep lifted. With palms remaining on the floor, hop legs back.
  • Slide Exercise: This works the legs, shoulder, abdominal muscles, and rear. Squat with feet together with a slight forward bend, keep palms together in front of the chest. Hop right leg out towards the side, with toes touching the ground. Staying in the squat, extend the left arm diagonally overhead, while allowing the right arm to fall to the sidealternate sides.
