My Approach To This 200 Hour Online Yoga Training
Despite the fact that I am feeling highly motivated to dive right into this online yoga teacher training and get certified to teach yoga, I knew that I would need to come up with a strategy to get myself in the game of being a student again having not been a student in so many years. My goal is to complete this online YTT in a reasonable amount of time I’m enrolled in the 200 hour online yoga teacher training certification program. Bri offers a 300 hour advanced online yoga teacher training, also.
For me personally, I like to go all-in on things, Im a little intense that way! I created an accountability blueprint for myself to ensure that I am working towards my goal of completing the online yoga certification course every day. This is a completely self-paced online yoga training that allows for 1 year to complete the program, but I gave myself a much shorter deadline. And knowing that there will be two tests required to complete this yoga teacher training program encourages me to finish my online YTT in a timely manner so that I still have the knowledge fresh in my mind.

I always dreamed about being a movement teacher I loved dancing when I was a kid, and I always admired everyone, who shared and taught me how to move
So taking another yoga teacher training was a no brainer for me. The only question was with whom!

The training started on the 1. of June 2018. However on the first day, there was no yoga yet. We met in the evening for the welcome circle, where we sat in this big circle in the yoga room, all nervous and excited to start this journey. I felt, like I want to run away there were 47 people I didnt know, and I thought there is no way I will ever get to know the names of half of them! I already knew my roommate, because we wrote few emails to each other and she was one of the people Ive been stalking on Instagram for few months already. But oh man, was my social anxiety triggered hard on the first few days.

BKS: It triggers me in a motherly way, but I wouldnt say that its a trigger. I would say that it awakens in me the reason why I am teaching yoga, because people dont know what they need. A lot of times, people dont know whats going on and my message is typically, you have everything here, you dont need to worry about the people around you. I interact with a lot of people dealing with eating disorders. Every day, I get at least 10 direct messages on my FB or Instagram. People come to my class because of it. They share about it. Its so hard to not want to help them. But you cant really. I can only inspire them to change. Everyone has their own journey.
CC: I thought it was interesting because out of all the classes that we have gone to here, because it was in your bio that you suffered from anorexia, I was curious about that. That someone showed up in your class, and showed up in a very strategic position.
BKS: Yes, and she also said hello, and you know, its just all you can do is be there and be a light for them.
CC: So she is coming for a reason, to you.
BKS: I would say so.
CC: So what advice would you give someone who is looking for change?
BKS: I would say that the first step to change is observation.
CC: Of self?

I had planned to do a Yoga Teacher Training for quite some time, but traveling to some exotic destination for a month didnt feel like the yogi way to me. Its pretty far from Germany and I prefer to avoid flights for environmental reasons. So that wasnt a real option for me.
