Big Power Yoga Montrose

BIG Power Yoga Montrose opened in February of 2012 in Bayou Building near Allen Parkway and Buffalo Bayou. Being the mother branch of several other yoga studios, it has maintained an exceptional program for yogis. This is why all major activities and classes are held here. The powerful Baptiste Yoga is a good example that makes students release all tensions in the body.

BIG Kids is another venture of the center specializing in kids yoga. Children aged 2-12 are made to enjoy fun breathing exercises. It is made to be non-competitive and boosts social and mental well-being of the students.

Things To Know Before You Go To Yoga At Raven Tower

Last weekend, the Brunch Klub crew woke up early in pursuit of our usual craving of mimosasbut also for yoga! We rallied an hour earlier than usual and went to the Black Swan Yoga class at Raven Tower in the Hieghts. The class was a blast and a half and were already making plans to go again next week. Had I gone to the class earlier, it would have definitely been a solid contender on the 5 Yoga Classes to Try in HoustonNot in a Studio. We would have liked to have done the full brunch experience there, but couldnt find much sustenance afterward at Raven Tower. Here are some things we learned from our experience that you should know before you go!

  • Raven Tower is a great venue for music and yoga. It opened a few months ago and is the newest event venue in Houston. Its centered around its signature tower in the middle and has a patio out back that overlooks White Oak Bayou. You can also see the north end of the downtown skyline. I thought the whole place had a very Austin-y vibe about it.
  • The class is free! Easy on the wallet, great for the spirit. A fun workout with no cost to you. The event reminds me of Breakfast Yoga Club but at the same place every week.
  • Parking is great! Raven Tower has a designated parking lot and plenty of street parkinggood to know when youre trying to get your zen on and are stressed about being late.

What are people saying about yoga near 1201 Main St, Houston, TX 77002?

This is a review for yoga near 1201 Main St, Houston, TX 77002:

“Not a fan… the class I went to there was *literally* 60 people crammed in a small room – we were packed like sardines. I was stunned. I’ve never been to a yoga class where the instructor has no where to walk. Yoga is supposed to be relaxing but it was hard to focus on the practice when I’m more worried about kicking the person behind me or the mirror that was 2 inches from my face. It felt like Black Swan cares more about getting as much money as they can from a class than the actual yoga experience…”

After One Year Anniversary Black Swan Yoga Keeps Building Community Through Yoga

Black Swan Yoga Studio swooped into Houston from its Austin home-base last year with a grand opening on Jan. 1, 2016.

Since then, the donation-based yoga group – owned by Onnit Academy, a health and fitness gym in Austin that allows loose franchises of the yoga studios – has cultivated a devoted group of yogis not only in the Heights where the studio sits White Oak Drive, but from all over the city.

The one-room studio runs classes seven days a week, sometimes as late as 11 p.m. with 25 yoga teachers rotating in throughout the day.

“It’s a really beautiful studio,” said Roxane Eslami as she admired the artwork on the white lobby wall and sipped her frozen, green concoction freshly squeezed for her at the Juiceland counter inside the studio.

Eslami, who came to the studio strictly for the Juiceland drink, knows a thing or two about yoga aesthetics, she works at Lululemon in the Galleria, the yoga apparel “it” brand that hit its zenith with the rise of yoga popularity across the country over the last decade.

Beyond the clean white lines of the lobby with the occasional natural-wood accent and pop of color from the artwork, the activity inside the studio walls is what draws the students.

“Every teacher has their own style,” said Eslami, who lives outside the Sam Houston Tollway. “You get a little bit of everything.”

The owners of the studio bring different professional backgrounds with them, too.

The two drove from southwest Houston to attend the class.
