Best On Demand Yoga Classes

How Much Do Online Yoga Classes Typically Cost

Which Platform is best for Video on Demand for Yoga Studios

In general, online yoga classes are either free or part of a paid subscription service that can cost between roughly $10 and $30 per month. Live studio classes will run you about $25 to $35 per class, depending on the location, brand, and instructors experience. Purchasing a multiple course pack can bring the cost down significantly, but make sure you like the class before you invest hundreds of dollars. That said, most health clubs and gyms offer yoga classes in their lineup. You can also check with the local community or senior center for free yoga lessons.

Peloton Digital: Best Online Fitness Program For Cyclists And Runners

As one of the worlds best online fitness programs, Peloton Digital is blazing a trail for better and more enjoyable at-home workouts. You dont need a Peloton bike to use the Peloton app.

When Peloton first launched, it was mainly all about getting studio-quality spin classes at home. Since those early days, the brand has nurtured a global fitness community and, in addition to cycling based workouts, it has branched out into running, HIIT, yoga, aerobics and mindfulness, but not as in-depth as you’d get with a meditation app .

The Peloton Digital app gives you access to this world-beating online fitness training program on your phone, tablet or laptop , so you can workout wherever you are. You dont even need any specific home gym equipment for many of the classes – just a mat on the floor, and sometimes not even that.

There are over 10 online fitness workout types to pick from, including Bootcamp, Strength, Cycling, Outdoor Running, Yoga and Stretching.

Peloton launches new live and on-demand online fitness workout classes everyday, with thousands of video workouts in its back catalog for you to exercise along with. Honestly, theres so much on offer with Peloton Digital that its kind of unfair to all of the other brands featured in this guide.

Be aware that Obe Fitness is one of the more expensive home workout programs in our list, but it does offer a lot for the price.

For Diy Membership Offerings

Try: Patreon + a video platform like Vimeo or YouTube

Whos using it: Britt Tagg, yoga teacher

How does it work?

Patreon is a platform that functions similarly to social media, except you can create paid memberships in order for students to access your content. I offer different membership options that make it affordable. The pre-recorded classes vary in length and style and are made available anytime. The various memberships each include different packages and perks.

What are the benefits?

You have a platform to create your own business. Its not just for yoga instructors. Its for artists, musicians, cafes, too. You create the content and determine what, when, and how students can access it.

Patreon is pretty user friendly. You create your profile, similar to how you would for other social media outlets. Then you decide what pricing tiers you would like to offer. You cant store videos on Patreon, so you have to upload your video to a third-party platform, like Vimeo or YouTube, and then embed that link into Patreon. There are tons of helpful tutorials as your create your Patreon account.

Sharing your Patreon on other social media outlets helps spread the word. People pledge money/become patrons and are charged once a month. They can cancel anytime.

Any other useful tips?

Stay engaged with your patrons. And use other social media outlets to help spread the word. Also, create polls and special offers whenever you can. It keeps patrons interested.

What Equipment Do I Need For An Online Yoga Class

Some styles of yoga involve more props than others. You may be asked to use a towel, a yoga strap, a couple yoga blocks, and maybe even a pillow. But you can usually improvise using items you have on-hand. No matter what style of yoga youre practicing, though, youre probably going to want a yoga mat.

Ibodyfit: Best Online Fitness Program For Pro Advice

Yoga Heating by Heating Green

iBodyFit is run by Franklin Antoian, one of Shape magazines ‘Top 50 Trainers in America’. It offers a comprehensive selection of workout programs, with videos in a variety of categories covering aerobics, pilates, and machine workouts, among others.

When you head to the site, youll see a list of workout plans as well as options to receive personal training. The former included a Fat Burner Plan , designed to help you lose weight through daily workouts , a weight loss diet plan, and workout video library.

For only $20 more you could access the Bundle Plan instead, comprising the Fat Burner Plan, the Muscle Toner Plan, and Beach Bod Plan, all for $49 a year. Again, youll get access to workout plans, videos and nutritional guidance.

For proper personal training and support, the company offers three tiers of monthly online fitness training support: Starter costs $49 for one month, VIP costs $99 for one month, and VIP Plus costs $149 for one month. Considering how expensive personal trainer sessions can be in gyms, the Starter package is tempting.

It includes a custom workout plan and diet, with workout support and feedback from a personal trainer. While its frustrating that theres no app, you can track your personal progress on the site by inputting basic measurements such as your weight, waist and bicep size to see how well youre achieving your goals.

How We Test Online Yoga Classes

Each of the apps and classes featured in this guide was tested to see how well they compared across these four categories: Yoga variety, quality, intensity, and ease of use. Here’s how each of those categories specifically factored into which apps ultimately made this guide.

Yoga variety: This is an important feature of any online yoga class as you not only want the classes to stay fresh but variety also challenges you in different ways. Testing for this was fairly straightforward do the classes offer a diverse range of flows or not? Though some of the categories are specific to, for instance, celebrity-led classes or those that are streamed live, they still have some amount of variation that kept me coming back to them.

Quality: Although quality as it relates to a yoga class may sound broad, it is an important distinction, especially for the classes that require a fee. This means judging the effectiveness of the classes, the streaming quality, and how well the flow is taught and explained.

Intensity: Perhaps this category is best meant for more advanced users but beginners can also benefit from how intense a class is to either pump up their routine or know which to stay away from. I judged the intensity of each class not just by how grueling or sweat-inducing it was but also how difficult the poses and flow were.
