My 3 Week Yoga Retreat

When my daughter left for college I was determined to stay busy and keep moving. I had done a little yoga in the past, so I decided to look into starting up again. I am a member of a club that also offers weekly yoga classes so I started going. They have two types of classesa more gentle class that is less strenuous, and a class for all the hardcore bendy chicks. I felt like I should start with the less strenuous class since I didnt have much yoga experience. I really liked the class and didnt feel intimidated by the instructor or the other students. After a few sessions, the instructor told me I could definitely handle the more strenuous class. I wasnt sure, but I attended that session the following week. I held my own but I felt out of place with the bendy girls. They also werent as friendly as the gentle class students. So I went back to the gentle class. Several of the students began asking me to join them for coffee after class. I started doing that and enjoyed it but I felt that between the drive, the class, and then coffee I was giving up too much of my day to this.
Then I tried Happy Yoga with Sarah Starr.
A few months ago I started seeing those late night infomercials for the 3 Week Yoga Retreat Program.
So heres what you get:
- Day 1: Core
- Day 5: Flow on the Go
- Weekends are for relaxing, unwinding and destressing
Here they are:
What I like about this program:
The Best Part About The 3 Week Yoga Retreat
I dont know about you, but my favorite part of the 3 Week Yoga Retreat is that it will not cost me . Its because its going to be available exclusively to BEACHBODY ON DEMAND customers!
This means if you already have Beachbody on Demand, youll no only get full access to over $3000 worth of other programs like P90X, INSANITY, and more but youll also get the full 3 Week Yoga Retreat just for being a member.
So that means, get on it!
Difference Between Yoga Retreat And Everyday Yoga Session
For those who dont understand the difference between the yoga retreat and the normal yoga session, I want to tell you guys the common difference in that in yoga session your trainer will not pay a proper attention. Whereas in a yoga retreat you get all the attention you want for yourself.

You can select the retreat which you like according to your desire and book yourself in it for three weeks. Its not only about the yoga but zen location is also a reason of admiring the yoga retreat sessions.

This Is A True Beginners Yoga Routine
I can say without hesitation, this program is for beginners. If youre more advanced, youll most likely find the beginning weeks too slow. Its more for people who:
- Dont know where to begin with yoga.
- Have been away from yoga for a long time.
- Thought of going to a yoga class, but feel intimidated.
- Need a break from more intense workouts or injury
- Are looking to get your man to try yoga, this is great place to start
Youll learn these fundamental yoga poses that are common with any yoga practice:
- Downward Dog
- Childs Pose
- Corpse Pose: Savasana
There are many more poses and stretches youll do in this workout. This is just a sneak peek at what you can expect. Its also worth noting there are a number of hip flexor and hip opening stretches. Great for people who sit at a desk most of the day.
If youve done lots of yoga classes in the past, Im guessing you arent going to learn a whole lot from 3 Week Yoga Retreat. It would still be a good yoga workout, especially weeks 2 and 3 Flow workouts.
Week : Progression With Ted

For the final week of the 3 Week Yoga Retreat, youll progress with Ted McDonald. Hell kick your practice up a notch, and youll begin to see improvements in both your skills and understanding of yoga.
This former Elite Adventure Racer and a lifelong athlete is educated in both Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga and uses his classes to help his students improve their flexibility, strength, and focus.
Hes been one of Tony Hortons yoga teachers for years, is one of the designated yoga teachers for the Tour De France, and knows how to guide you through a practice that may also help you see greater results in higher-intensity programs.
Here are some moves youll see in week three:

What You Get What You Need
The program is available both in DVD format or via Beachbody on Demand. Might I make a suggestion? At a butt-puckering price-tag of over $100 for the base package, maybe give BOD a shot for a year. Im no coach, but that does seem a better use of money. That way if it sucks, you can try other smash hits like P90X, Insanity, or the critically acclaimed YouV2.
Its a foregone conclusion that a yoga mat is a must unless youve been stealing seconds of Aunt Cohens duck-fat latkes and have a layer of mushy regret to rest your bones on. Id also recommend a yoga block or run to the garage and build something equivalent out of scrap lumber.
The calendar is broken down into 3 weeks with each week progressing to the next level of difficulty: Foundation, Expansion and Progression. Each day has a unique workout so the package includes 21 distinct routines.
Week Yoga Retreat Results
I ran through countless tweets and posts to see what actual 3 Week Yoga Retreat participants were feeling about it. I didn’t see any complaints. There could be some out there, but disputing the benefits of yoga is a hard find for anyone.
Beachbody on Demand posts results of the coaches as students quite frequently. Here are a couple people who have shared their success.
Nathan L, made a hybrid workout using Beachbody on Demand programs, The Asylum and P90x along with the 3 week Yoga retreat. He reported improved strength and balance along with weight loss.
I think the 4.5 pounds lost is an understatement. The Asylum and P90 program burn a ton of calories.
Alyssa M. reported success with improved strength and flexibility. She also lost over 7 lbs and improved her reach by 4 inches.
She is an independent Beachbody Coach who has followed the program and provided results to BeachBody on Demand.
From my view, adding yoga to my regular schedule wasn’t something I considered worthwhile until I took the time to learn. I always felt that if I wasn’t jumping around like a mad man during a high intensity interval workout or lifting weights, then it must not be a workout.
I can’t make personal claims of weight loss because I am already on a pretty active workout schedule. However, after giving the workouts some time, I have much better balance, strength and mobility than I would have without.

The 3 Week Yoga Retreat is a program designed to teach beginners the fundamentals of yoga. With daily classes and a carefully crafted program, the 3 Week Yoga Retreat makes it possible for anyone to become confident on their yoga mat, regardless of pre-existing skills or fitness level. The at-home program starts on a Monday. Each weekday class is approximately 30 minutes in length, making these classes easy to fit into a busy schedule. Every day offers a unique routine with a different focus, broadening the scope of what students will be able to take away upon completion.
The program offers a variety of resources to help you track your progression and deepen your experience of transformation. It also includes a quickstart guide that outlines the entire program, as well as a class calendar so that students can keep track of where they have been and what is to come. The pose tracker helps to document progression and the short beginner tutorials help to stabilize the foundations of practice by highlighting the basic principles of yoga, breathing techniques, and how to use props.
The program is an at-home experience, but that doesnt mean that support is not available. Through the program, students receive free 24/7 support from experts in the field.

If youve ever been to a live class, you may know what its like when you like with an instructor or dont.
I know for me, there is one instructor I love at the gym, but the other makes me nervous and like I can never any of the yoga poses right. Which causes me stress versus reducing it.
Youll find the trainer you love in this program, and the variety helps guarantee that.
Final Thoughts On My Review Of The 3 Week Yoga Retreat
I really did not have high hopes for this program. I mean its been out for over a year, and I just got around to reviewing it now.
What I liked most about it was:
- Excellent instrution
- A different workout each day
- Trainer variety
- The 10-minute optional workouts on Sunday
- Never any over the top intensity or boredom
- I felt almost as balanced structurally as after visiting the chiropractor just one week in
- It makes you more aware of your body and mind
I took me a little bit, but here is what I have for negatives:
- The plain white background is kind of weird
- Got lost a couple times on Week 3 of Flow
- Three 10-minute Sunday workouts, kind of a pain if you want to do all three.
I could see myself doing this program as compliment to another workout, as something to do in between programs when I need rest, when recovering from injury, and/or as a supplemental weekend workout.

Review: 3 Week Yoga Retreat
Not going to lie to you folks, Im totally delinquent when it comes to fitting yoga into my schedule. The primary reason is that when I get time to get busy, I feel like I need to make that count by getting the heart-rate up or lifting heavy things.
This of course, means that lately my flexibility could be significantly better than it currently is. In particular my lower back which tends to feel like a bag of smashed glass on any given day. So the timing might be good to slow things down and take a retreat. Like maybe a 3 Week Yoga Retreat. See what I did there?
My last foray into a dedicated Yoga program was Ultimate Yogi as hosted by the human fortune-cookie wisdom dispenser, Travis Eliot. While his method was sound, he had especially good skills at getting on my freaking nerves. Lets see if Beachbody can do one better.
Week 3 Is Called Progression And Its Tough

Ted is the yoga teacher in week 3. This week is all about gently pushing yourself to do a little bit more and gives you a chance to see the progress youve made.
Teds an endurance athlete, and you can see it in his workouts. Hell show you how yoga factors into intense cardio and strength workouts. It is really a missing piece of fitness. He is also a big believer in the power of meditation and restorative yoga. Restorative yoga helps strengthen muscles, build stamina, and prevent injuries.

Week 3 Of The Beachbody Yoga Retreat
For the final week, Ted McDonald will improve their flexibility, strength, and focus. Ted has been Tony Horton’s yoga teacher for years. He does retreats all over the world and he’s a world-class teacher. He will help guide you from beginner to proficient in a variety of different types of yoga.
You’re not going to become an expert yogi in 3 weeks, but you will finish this program feeling more confident about what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and your favorite style of yoga. You’re also going to feel stronger, more flexible and way more chill.
Week Yoga Retreat In A Nutshell
Yoga can change your life. At the very least, it can get you into better shape. And you don’t have to step foot into a studio to reap all the benefits.
But are 3 Week Yoga Retreat results worth the investment of money and time? I think so. It’s made for beginners by professionals.
Here’s the main things that sold me on it:
- It’s the best deal I’ve found as far as price and value go
- The program’s structure is easy to follow
- All classes have a modifier, so even out-of-shape beginners can do it
- It isn’t just a bunch of videos â You get extras, like the nutritional guide, progress tracker and calendar

Who Will The Program Suit
The 3 Week Yoga Retreat Workout Program will suit beginners who want to learn, understand, progress, and ultimately master yoga.
If chanting and working in a room with lit candles is a bit too out there for you, youll be pleased to know that neither feature in this course.
If youve been practicing yoga for a while and youve reached an intermediate or advanced level, this probably wont be the program for you.
The 3 Week Yoga Retreat Calendar
I don’t know about you, but I can stick with an exercise program better if I have its schedule laid out in front of me where I can see it. Stick it to your fridge. It shows you which exercises to do on what days.
Seeing how far you’ve come is more useful with a HIIT or weight-loss program, but it can give you some encouragement here too.

Week : Foundation With Vytas
Each week builds upon the prior one, and the 21-day program kicks off with Week 1 led by Vytas Baskauskas, a trainer who already has a dedicated following in Los Angeles .
Hes been studying and practicing yoga for more than 15 years, and approaches the discipline in a functional and technical way that will help you understand not just the poses, but also why theyre important.
During the first week of 3 Week Yoga Retreat Vytas will teach you yoga fundamentals so you can build a solid foundation for the weeks to come. Here are some moves youll see in week one:
Benefits Of The Program
There are a variety of benefits of this program in particular and of introducing yoga as a regular routine in general. Some of the selling points of this program include the flexibility it offers. Without having to go anywhere or be on a particular daily schedule, yoga practice is made convenient. The price is also of value, being at par with a monthly yoga membership if not more affordable. Online support at any time is also of great benefit when questions arise about your practice. The Beachbody 3 Week Yoga Retreat builds confidence on the mat in the comfort of your own home so that when you are ready to head to the studio, you feel comfortable in your own flow.
On a physical level, this program helps to build strength, deepen flexibility, and improve balance. Through continued practice of a variety of poses, the entire body is engaged and muscle tone improves. The program also helps to improve posture and promotes weight loss, especially when paired with the whole food-based nutrition plan the program offers alongside the workouts.
Exercises are like prose, whereas yoga is the poetry of movements. Once you understand the grammar of yoga you can write your poetry of movements. Amit Ray
This program also helps to reduce stress, increase confidence, and balance the mind. It improves focus and stamina and contributes to personal transformation. Various poses also offer unique, individual benefits, so the positive impacts of this program are far reaching.
